Integral raised €18m for AI-first accounting in Germany. The more useful story is who does the accounting and who stands behind it.

On 16 September 2026, Integral announced an €18m Series A co-led by Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman. Existing investors Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst and Puzzle Ventures also took part. The company was founded in Berlin in 2024. It says the money will go towards deeper automation and towards hiring engineers, licensed professionals and commercial staff.

In Germany, Integral's offer is a service delivered by a firm. According to its service page, customers engage Integral Tax and receive completed bookkeeping, payroll, annual financial statements, tax advice and tax returns. The team also handles filings and communication with the authorities.

In this model, the provider takes on the work and delivers the result, with AI doing part of it. The customer hands over the work instead of running a tool themselves.

Mosaic Ventures, in its explanation of the investment, describes the offer as managed bookkeeping, tax filing and payroll for small and medium businesses in Germany. In its account, AI handles intake, classification, reconciliation and first-pass preparation. Qualified professionals then review the work, correct it and sign it. Mosaic is an investor, so this is its own account and not an independent audit.

The name Integral covers more than one company. Its compliance page, updated on 17 August 2026, describes Integral as a network brand. Integral Services GmbH provides infrastructure and support and coordinates the network. It does not itself provide statutory audit, advisory or other professional services. Integral Tax GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft is the affiliated licensed firm. Member firms are legally independent and answer for their own acts and omissions.

What to ask of any AI service

For buyers, the useful questions are practical.

  • Who delivers the work, and who fixes it when something is wrong? Check which legal entity is named in the contract.
  • What does the AI do, and which steps are done by people?
  • Who reviews the work before it reaches you, and what does the provider commit to on turnaround and corrections?
